CyanogenMod team has released the first Stable CM 12.1 custom ROM for all the Motorola Moto G 2014 smartphones.
The CM 12.1 Stable ROM is based on the Android 5.1.1 AOSP Lollipop builds, so you should be getting all the stock feature along with tons of extra functions added by the CyanogenMod team.

÷ Prerequisites:
• Use the tutorial only for Motorola Moto G 2014.
– don’t try to update any other different devices with the files that you will find in this post.your phone has to be on a rooted firmware.
•CWM or TWRP Custom Recovery image has to be installed on it.
– any CWM-based or TWRP custom Recovery should work with the tutorial as long as the one installed is updated to its latest version.
– if the installed custom Recovery is not running the latest version, then it won’t be able to flash any new Android 5.1.1 Lollipop ROMs.
•In the ‘how-to’ part of this post you will find two extra steps like the NANDROID ROM Backup and the Factory Reset.
– do not skip them.
– the NANDROID Backup creates a complete copy for the ROM that’s already installed on your device.
– that backup file can be used to repair the phone in case it doesn’t boot in normal mode with the CM 12.1 Android 5.1.1.
– the ‘factory reset’ wipes the system partition removing the old ROM and allowing you to flash a brand new custom ROM.
– factory resetting your phone won’t remove any data from internal storage.
•In case you want to save data from installed apps or any other files you can use Helium tool.
– Contacts and People details can besynced with your default Gmail account.

÷ How to Install CM 12.1 Android 5.1.1 ROM on Motorola Moto G 2014
1- Download the CM 12.1 SNAPSHOT ROM from here and Gapps for Android 5.1.1-based ROMs.
2- Move the downloaded files to your phone’s internal storage.
– don’t extract the archived contents.
– disconnect your smartphone from computer.
3- Switch off your device.Now boot it in Custom Recovery Mode.
4- Create the NANDROID ROM Backup for your device:
– for CWM-based Recoveries you can use the ‘backup and restore’ option.
– for TWRP you ca use ‘backup’.
– set a name for the file and confirm process.
5- Factory Reset the device:
– CWM: select ‘wipe data/ factory reset’.
– TWRP: select ‘wipe’ option.
– confirm the factory reset and continue to the next step.
6- Start CM 12.1 Android 5.1.1 ROM installation:
– CWM: select ‘install zip from sdcard’, then ‘choose zip from sdcard’.
– for TWRP open the ‘install’ menu.
7- Find the CM 12.1 SNAPSHOT ROM zip and confirm the flashing process.
– don’t press any buttons until the flashing process is done.
8- You can flash the Gapps zip after the ROM is installed.
– install Gapps in the same way you did with the CM 12.1 ROM.
9- Reboot your phone in normal mode after all the files are installed.
– note that the first boot process of this new ROM is going to take a while.
Use your default Google account in order to regain complete control over your device once again.
