Verizon Galaxy S6 Edge+ Marshmallow 6.0.1 Rolling out Now [ How to Update]

If you have a Galaxy S6 Edge+ on Verizon, you'll want to check your phone for an update as the carrier is now pushing Marshmallow out.

Verizon Samsung Galaxy S6 edge+ update brings a number of big changes, some of which include:

* This software update brings the latest Android™ Marshmallow OS along with improvements to Live broadcast and Edge panel, easier app searches and updates to the Notification panel.



•Wi-Fi Calling

•You can make and receive calls over a Wi-Fi network if cellular service isn't available, helping conserve your data.

It's included at no additional charge with your existing plan and device

•Use your own phone number to make and receive calls

•Wi-Fi calls to US numbers are free, even while traveling outside the US

•You can activate Wi-Fi Calling directly on your device. Go to Settings > Advanced Calling > Activate Advanced Calling

•Once Advanced Calling is active, you can turn on HD Voice and Wi-Fi Calling from the same settings.

*The first Galaxy device at Verizon to receive Android's latest Marshmallow OS upgrade. Major features include:

•Now on Tap anticipates what you need in the moment. With a simple tap, you can get cards with useful information and apps that feed your need to know.

•When your device is at rest, Doze automatically puts it into a sleep state, preserving your battery charge.

•No need to give apps access all the time. Android Marshmallow lets you define what you want to share and when.

•Turn permissions off at any time, too.

*Live Broadcast improvements

•You can quickly access Live broadcast by tapping on Camera > Mode> Live broadcast

•Create a shortcut on home screen by tapping

•Create shortcut on Home screen on the welcome screen or go to Settings > Create shortcut

•Send invites of your Live broadcast even to contacts not saved on your phone, just enter their number when you tap the invite button.

*Edge panel improvements

•Rich content can be viewed on the extended edge panel for improved readability with additional information such as news, sports scores and stocks.

•Task edge provides the fastest way to access frequently used features. For example, you can create shortcuts for emailing a specific person or creating an event or task.

•Apps edge is one column bigger and now has folders support. You can now add shortcuts for up to 10 of your favorite apps.

•OnCircle is a new addition to the People edge feature supported across Galaxy edge devices, allowing you to communicate creatively with more than just words. Express yourself by sending doodles, short video clips, emoticons and touch effects like knocks.

•App removed
Amazon Appstore has been removed.


You can download both updates over-the-air now. To get it manually, head into your Settings, then About device and finally check for updates.
