Now that Marshmallow update is available for the Galaxy J7, J5 and J3, you might want to know how to get root on the newer firmware versions before installing the update.
Thankfully, the latest SuperSU zip with systemless root works for Marshmallow releases by Samsung. So, to get root on your J series devices, all you gotta do is get a custom recovery like TWRP installed and then flash the SuperSU zip to get root access.

÷ How Root Samsung Galaxy J7/J5 /J3 on Marshmallow 6.0 Update
1- Download TWRP recovery ,SuperSU v2.65 and Odin 3.10.6 for your device.
2- Unzip the Odin 3.10.6 .zip file and run/open Odin3 v3.10.6.exe file from the extracted files on your PC.
3- Make sure you’ve downloaded a Odin flashable TWRP recovery .tar file compatible for your device.
(If applicable) Enable OEM unlock:
Go to Settings » About phone » and tap “Build number” seven times to enable “Developer options”.
4- Go back to main Settings page, scroll to bottom and select “Developer options” from there.
5- Under Developer options, look for “Enable OEM unlock” checkbox/toggle and make sure you Check it or turn it ON.
6- Boot your device into Download mode:
Switch off your device.
7- Press and hold “Home + Power + Volume down” buttons for a few seconds until you see a warning screen.
8- Press Volume Up on the warning screen to accept it and boot into Download mode.
9- Once your device is in download mode, connect it to the PC with a USB cable. The Odin window on PC should detect the device and show an “Added!!” message.
10- Now click on the AP tab on Odin window and select the TWRP recovery .tar file that you downloaded for your device.
└ Note: DON’T play with any other options on the screen. You’re only required to connect your device and select the TWRP recovery .tar file in the AP tab.
11- Click the Start button on Odin and wait for it to finish the process. Once it has finished successfully, you’ll see a pass message on the Odin screen.
Your device will automatically reboot when Odin is done flashing. You can then disconnect your device.
12- Now transfer the SuperSU zip file from the download link above to your device’s storage.
13- Boot your device into TWRP recovery.
Tap on “Install” and select the SuperSU zip file that you transferred to your device in Step 1.
14-After selecting the .zip file, do “Swipe to Confirm Flash” on the bottom of screen to begin the flashing process.
15- Once SuperSU is flashed, you’ll get “Reboot System” option, select it.
Congratulations! Your device should be rooted now. Look for the SuperSU app in app drawer.
