  2. I'll try to explain myself better. after I unlock the bootloader, I installed the TWRP by downloading the zip file on the manual (this one https://forum.xda-developers.com/p9/how-to/guide-root-huawei-p9-t3367800), then I unzipt it and run the .bat file as instracted. Afther a reboot I copied the SUPER SU zip file to my internal memory, then I tried to enter TWRP by turning off the device, and turn it on by pressing volume up, but all I got is the huawei recovery mode that alow me to reboot or shut it down. Any idea what can I do??
    Thanks

    1. OK.

1- Download the TWRP fastboot image from the Downloads section and transfer it to the same folder where you have installed ADB & Fastboot files. Rename it to twrp.img for your convenience.

2- Connect your device to the PC.

3- Navigate to the folder where you’ve extracted the ADB and Fastboot files and open a command prompt by pressing Shift + Right click on any empty space inside the folder and select Open command window here from the context menu.

3- Use the below command to reboot your device to bootloader/fastboot mode.

      adb reboot bootloader

4-In fastboot mode, use the below command to check if your device is connected or not. It should return your device serial number if everything’s good.
      fastboot devices

5- Now, flash the TWRP recovery on your device with the below command.

      fastboot flash recovery twrp.img

6- Don’t reboot your device now. Just enter the recovery mode from here.

7- Once the recovery is flashed, remove the battery from the device and reinsert it. Press and hold the Power+Volume Down buttons until Huawei logo appears.

8- Then release the power button for a second before holding it again to enter TWRP recovery.

9- In TWRP recovery, it will ask you if you want to enable system modifications. Make sure to swipe to allow modifications or TWRP will be replaced in the next boot.

10- Perform a factory reset by using the “Format Data” option under the Wipe menu in order to disable device encryption.

11- From the TWRP main menu, reboot the recovery.
Once you’re in TWRP again, copy the SuperSU zip to your device using MTP mode. At this step, don’t try to reboot your device or you’ll end up in a boot loop.

12- In TWRP, click Install and flash the SuperSU zip that you’ve downloaded to permanently root your device.

Finally, you can reboot the device from TWRP main menu.
That’s it. You’ve successfully installed TWRP and rooted your Huawei P9.

      Best regards.

    2. Thank you so much! quick question just to make sure, I'm downloading the TWRP form their official site? (this one https://twrp.me/devices/huaweip9.html). And How do I know where I installed the ABD and fastboot files?

      Delete
    3. Maybe I didn't install the ADB & Fastboot files curectly? I have downloaded the SDK tools from this site https://developer.android.com/studio/index.html
from the windows version from the "Get just the command line tools" section at the buttom of the page. I got a zip file which I have extracted to folder within a folder named "tools" inside I see different files non of them called ADB or Fastboot. Should I copy the TWRP file into this folder?

  3. And few more - hopefuly my last ones, in section 4 in your response you wrote "In fastboot mode, use the below command to check..." to which commend you mean?
I tried to skip to section 5 and entered the commend. I got this text:

    "C:\Users\niv\Downloads\sdk-tools-windows-3859397\tools>fastboot flash recovery twrp.img
target reported max download size of 471859200 bytes
    sending 'recovery' (22462 KB)...
    OKAY [ 0.718s]
    writing 'recovery'...
    OKAY [ 0.175s]
    finished. total time: 0.893s

Let's say I got it all right, How do I enter the recovery mode from here without rebooting?
